Reporting & evaluation
If working with a trusted partner, you will need to consider what reporting you expect from them, and what you will undertake yourself.
By signing the IT Reuse for Good Charter, you will be pledging to report on your progress. This might affect your choice of partner when looking to set up your own scheme. Good Things Foundation meets all of the essential reporting requirements, for partners of the National Device Bank.

Partnering for comprehensive reporting and evaluation
Good Things Foundation report to partners of the National Device Bank, demonstrating how they are helping the planet and giving back to the community. The comprehensive report covers all of the essential data required for the IT Re-use for Good Charter.
- How many devices have been reused for digital inclusion
- The impact of device ownership for people who can’t afford or access their own
- The number of assets recycled and amount of e-waste prevented
- The total amount of CO2e emissions avoided
- The location of devices distributed
- The number of Digital Inclusion Hubs that have received devices for their community
Good Things Foundation partners with B Corp certified Reconome to offer a cost neutral solution for organisations seeking to reuse their tech for social good.
To date the partnership has collaborated with 75 organisations and processed 64,688 assets on behalf of those organisations, preventing 114,429Kg of e-waste and providing 17,631 digitally excluded people with a refurbished device.
Around 30% of what has been collected has needed to be recycled (which does come at a cost) however 70% had sufficient value to cover the operational costs of the Device Bank and generate 17,631 devices for donation to digitally excluded individuals.
The National Device Bank has core categories of reusable tech like smartphones, tablets and laptops that we prefer to receive, but then secondary categories of tech like desktops, printers, av equipment, monitors and even servers are always considered. Sometimes this can generate income which is then reinvested into refurbishing and distributing the reusable tech – it’s all supporting digital inclusion.
